A McLaren steering wheel encrusted with Steinmetz diamonds
Commissioned to mark the 40th anniversary of McLaren, Steinmetz worked in conjunction with McLaren’s engineers to manufacture a Diamond Steering Wheel for Kimi Raikkonen’s McLaren Mercedes Formula One car for the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix.
The wheel is one of only two in the world, and the Mercedes Benz three-pointed star on its centre is studded with round, brilliant-cut, white, natural diamonds, expertly manufactured and designed Steinmetz.
Steinmetz, creators of the world’s finest diamonds, and Vodafone McLaren Mercedes are both leaders in their respective fields - which, although very different, rely on similar principles: flawless engineering, ground-breaking design and unparalleled performance are all traits the two partners share in common.
